Georgia Greens Ask: What took so long?
Greens responds to Ossoff / Warnock vote on discharge petitions
"Georgia's US Senators last week voted to support discharge petitions to enforce provisions of the Arms Export Control Act prohibiting the transfer of weapons and munitions to nations which abuse human rights. While this was the right thing to do, both Senators have missed countless opportunities over the last 14 months to stop United States support of Israel’s genocidal attacks on Palestinians in Gaza, and, more broadly since they assumed public office, end support of the Zionist colonial project in Palestine altogether", said Denice Traina, Cochair of the Georgia Green Party.
TrackAIPAC.com reports that US Senator Raphael Warnock (D, GA) has received $923,478 from the unregistered foreign agent, while US Senator Jon Ossoff (D, GA) has accepted $768,996 from US citizens urging our government prioritize the apartheid regime over the interests of Georgians and US citizens.
"We are left to ask: what took you so long? Did it really take a year to understand that the human rights of Palestinians, adherence to US law and the lost opportunity costs to spend those funds on the pressing problems faced at home should guide your hand in this vote?" said Ms. Traina.
Green Party officers are eager to speak with all Georgians who are ready to mount an electoral challenge to the corporate parties that have allowed the interests of weapons manufacturers and foreign nations to capture the policy making apparatus of the United States’ local, state and federal governments.
